Speech, Religion, Press, Assembly, Grievances
2. What is the Tinker Standard?
It doesn't disrupt school
3. What is the Frasier Standard?
Vulgar or indecent
4. What is the Hazelwood Standard?
Related to legitimate teaching concerns
5. What is the Frederick Standard?
Schools cannot censor students actions and speech outside of school.
6. What is the definition of libel?
False statement about someone. Defamatory, must actually harm the reputation of another person. Libel is visual or written. Slander is spoken
1. Published, at least 1 other person
2. Of and concerning, the plaintiff (identify specifically with plaintiff)
3. That is a false statement of fact (opinions are not libel)
4. Made with fault. The level of fault depends on status of plaintiff.
