Angle: School Dance Gets Cancelled
A-Roll SHOT OF SHANE AT SCHOOL IN THE HALLS SHOT OF SHANE DANCING IN THE HALL SHOT OF MY MOM ON THE COUCH AT HOME SHOT OF MOM ON THE COUCH AT HOME SARA STAND UP SHOT OF MACKENZIE IN THE HALLS AT SCHOOL | B-Roll "NO ONE WANTS TO GO TO THE DANCES ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY TOOK ALL THE FUN OUT OF IT. WE DON'T WANT TO PAY $10 AND NOT DANCE THE WAY WE WANT." This year has been very different in the school dances tradition. Administration laid down the law of "no grinding." They felt it was inappropriate. However students and adults feel differently. The students reacted by having no one attend dances and now the winter fest dance is cancelled. "I NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE POINT OF GRINDING BUT IT'S WHAT YOU KIDS DO AND THEY NEED TO REALIZE THAT." "I UNDERSTAND THEM WANTING TO SET LIMITS. FROM WHAT I HEARD THE DANCES CAN GET PRETTY NASTY, BUT COMPLETELY TAKING IT AWAY FROM YOU KIDS ISN'T FAIR. IT'S HOW YOU ALL GREW UP." With parents on the students side everyone is starting to wonder if the administration will lighten up a little and let the high schooler's have fun they way they know how. We talk with more eastview students about the situation and what they would do if they were in charge. "I WISH THE ADMINISTRATION WOULD JUST REALIZE THAT GRINDING IS OUR GENERATION. I WISH I COULD ENJOY MY SENIOR YEAR BY GOING TO ALL THE DANCES AND HAVING A GOOD TIME." "IF I WAS IN CHARGE I WOULD LET THE KIDS LIVE A LITTLE. I MEAN COME ON WE ARE TEENS WE ARE SUPPOSED TO MAKE TEACHERS CRINGE IT'S PART OF OUR JOB." Everyone around school is hoping that administration realizes we are not going to show up if we aren't allowed to dance how we please and let us dance the way we want. Only time will tell in this case. Signing off for the flash this is Sara. |

movie mistakes
These mistakes aren't even noticeable in the movie when your watching it I think. I have heard of so many mistakes in movies and not once noticed. I find it funny when they have things randomly disappear in a scene then come back. That seems to happens a lot in movies.

Sexting
Some 8th grade girl sent a naked picture to her boyfriend. A girl who was a friend sent it to a bunch of people and before you know it everyone at school had it. Three kids that were involved in sending the photo to other people got charged for child porn. I think the girl should have got in trouble because she is the idiot who sent it and she needs to pay the price.

Interviews
Shane
1. I ain't gonna pay to dance vertical that's stupid, and no one goes anymore.
2. They took all the fun out of it. We would rather do other stuff then spend $10 on dancing not the way we want to.
3. I would let the kids have fun. I understand it's how we grew up and what we are used to.
Mom
1. I never understood the point in grinding but it's what you kids do and I don't think they should just take that away.
2. Yes. I completely understand limiting things, from what I hear it gets pretty nasty at those dances, but banning grinding all together I think is a little much. You guys are teens and should be allowed to act like them while you can.
3. Eventually. They lose a lot of money I would imagine. I think they will have to come to some sort of compromise. Obviously you kids aren't going to attend if they don't change something.

Acitve or Passive Quiz
I learned that active is when someone is talking about what they did. Passive is when your talking about someone else doing something. I didn't know the difference until I read the article and took the quiz. When I took the quiz I got them all right except one but I figured out what I did wrong.
Interview
1. The teacher's need to understand that we are going to dance how we want to no matter what they say.
2. The way we dance is normal to us. It's our generation and how we grew up. We shouldn't have to change that just because they are from a different generation.
3. If I were administration I would let the kids dance how they want. I mean hands on the floor might be a little too far but a little grinding never harmed anyone.

Gaga and Madonna
Lady Gaga's new song has stirred up some troubles with Madonna. The song Born This Way by Lady Gaga is said to have ripped off Madonna's song Express Yourself. People say that the chorus sounds the same. The Internet has been going wild with people debating whether it's a rip off. Personally I don't hear it. They sound some what similar but a lot of songs sound the same. In the article I read it said that Madonna had emailed Gaga but it didn't have what the email said. It didn't even say if Madonna was mad or not. I wonder whats going on with that whole situation between those two.

Charlie Sheen
Cuban was talking to CBS news saying that we will be seeing more of Charlie. They are talking with Sheen and are going to be getting him a talk show or a reality show. They haven't made up the final decision yet. With all the hype about Sheen they expect his show to so really well. I personally think that people will get so sick of this guy. He can only be funny for so long. They also talked about Two and a Half Men in the article. They think Sheen may have ruined the show completely.

NFL Lockout
The NFL is running out of time to decide what they are going to do. They are keeping things from the public as of now so no one really knows whats happening. They only have until midnight to come up with a final decision other wise there might be no football next season. I really hope they can figure all this stuff out. I love football so much and can't imagine a year without it. :(

Apple Valley Wrestling
Apple Valley is sending almost all of their wrestlers to state. Only one guy isn't going. They killed the sections and I'm happy for them that they all get to go. I personally love watching them wrestle. I think they all work really hard and deserve to go. I can't wait to go watch them at state. I wish them all the best of luck even though I don't think that they will need the luck. A couple Eagan kids are also going and a Rosemount guy. Its a bummer that none of our guys are going. I really was hoping Erik Ehresman would make it.

Which court standard did someone follow or break in your article?
The Tinker Standard. He was not disrupting class.
Do you agree with the decisions in your article?
Yes I feel kids should be able to vent on facebook. They should be careful with what they say but there is nothing wrong with saying how you feel unless its a threat.
What do you feel should have been done in this instance
?
I feel like they handled it well and nothing should have changed.
What do you feel will be the future of rights in today's digital age?
I think people will be able to say what they want as long as they don't threat other people.
What rights do you have inside of school?
Here, basically none. We can't wear a lot of things. They can search our stuff. They even try to get involved on facebook.
What rights do you have outside of school?
Facebook is a huge one and twitter. That would be the freedom of speech, we can say whatever we want.

Wisconsin Power Play
Wisconsin is dealing with some issues right now. I don't understand what is going on at all. I guess they are trying to pass some new bill or something. Honestly all this stuff is way over my head. I hope whatever is going on doesn't effect summerfest. Wisconsin is dealing with budget cuts and i think they are trying to come up with ways to deal with it. All I know is that people are protesting about unions. The Governor wants to get rid of unions all together. I don't really know what I feel about the whole thing.

First Amendment
I got 14 out of 30 on the First Amendment quiz. There was a lot of questions that I had no idea on. I only rememeber a few things about the First Amendment. It was a long time ago that I learned about this stuff and I guess most of the information went in one ear and right out the other.

Christina Aguilera Falls!!
First she screws up the one song everyone in America should know, then she falls!! At the Superbowl she messed up the words to the National Anthem. Then at the Grammys she falls on stage. I think it might be time to stop with the singing career Christina. It has been one rough week for her.

Gas Prices Are Higher Than Ever
Right now gas prices are higher than they have ever been for this time of year. Some people are worried that the gas prices are going to spike again like they did in 2008. The OPIS cheif said we don't have to worry about that happening again. The gas prices are expected to rise a little in the spring but that is normal.

A guy in Marshall just got sentenced for life because he pleaded guilty for abducting and sexually assaulting a girl. She was delivering newspaper when Fahey abducted her. He admitted to every thing and now will be locked up for good. Some people in this world are disgusting!! How could you do that to someone?! I'm glad he is going to jail. Now only if we could get rid of the rest of the creepers in this world.

Lindsey Lohan Arrested Again
Lindsey Lohan was arrested for stealing a 2,500 dollar necklace. The article says she may be facing 3 years in state prison. She cant seem to follow the rules of her probation. In the last year she has been to rehab twice and jail twice. I say she is a lost cause. This girl has caused nothing but trouble for herself. I think everyone is sick of hearing about what she did now. I say just lock her up and get her outta here. Her movies always suck anyways.

Super Bowl Ads
I read an article about the super bowl ads. They said this year was a little dissapointing with the ads. I have to agree with that. None of them were really that funny. Doritos forsure had the best ads out of all of them. The article had lists of the best and worst ads. There were some pretty terrible ones. I dont know what happened this year but it was not good commercial wise. The game however was amazing!! GO PACK GO!!!

Jersey Shore I Need Closure Bro!
On CNN i read the article about the new jersey shore episode. It was basically a recap of what went on in the show. Like usual it was amazing. They all got pretty drunk. Ronnie a little more than he should have. Sam and Ron broke up...again. Hopefully its for good this time. Pauly D was flipping hilarious as expected. He messed with Snooki's one night stand and also brought his stalker back to the house. She left after being made fun of by almost everyone in the house. Personally I love this show soooo much! For some reason watching crazy Italians in Jersey is very entertaining. I'm always finding myself laughing at Snooki doing her random stuff. This week would be going around the store on a tricycle. Can't wait for the next episode! It looks like another good one!!

11 Reasons Why The Packers Will Win The Superbowl
I read the artcile why the packers will win the superbowl. I agree 100% with this article. They have everything they need to win. Aaron Rodgers will be a HUGE benefit to the team. He can pull out a win in any situation. He is very good at knowing when exactly to throw. His accuracy is outstanding. Tell him where to throw the ball and it's there. He can also get out of sticky situations. This quarterback will not only throw the ball but will run to escape a hit.
Not only do they have Aaron but they have the monster CLAY MATTHEWS!!! This man is just all around amazing. From his outstanding football skills to his stunning good looks. No man can stop this beast. He will not stop even after he rips his helmet off his head. That Steelers QB better like hitting the ground with Clay on the field.
Packers will win the superbowl this year. They not only can win by talent but they are a very deserving team. They had a rough start to the season with all the injuries but nothing stops the packers!!
